Mauresmo was number one player for total 39 weeks in her sport career. She is the first Frenchwoman, who reached the top list of the computer rankings since it’s introduced in the year of 1970.

“It’s an amazing honor to see my career celebrated alongside the top champions of tennis sport, individuals who I’ve always admired greatly throughout my life,” she says in a press conference.

Now, Mauresmo is breaking boundaries in a distinct way by coaching one of the leading men’s tennis players called Andy Murray.
Apart from the election of Mauresmo to Hall of Fame, there are other players who’re also elected in different player categories. David, a wheelchair tennis star is elected to Hall of Australia. The 6-time Paralympic champion, David won 8 titles at US Open and 9 at Australian Open.

In the contributor category, Nancy Jeffett was chosen. She helped setting up the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation. She is also among the first promoters of today’s women’s professional tennis.
